The Box

brief: Inn-fresco were asked to work in conjunction with a firm of leading Yorkshire architects to develop an all year round outdoor drinking area. The brief required a solution that enabled customers to enjoy alfresco living yet was compliant with the current smoking legislation.
The area to be developed was on a very busy, land - locked outlet in North Leeds and the only option was to think outside the box!
solution: 60 sq meters of trading space was created by developing the roof of an existing national bank. The area features a triple patiola system custom fitted to the existing perimeter wall. A fully retractable weather resistant material roof was chosen as it is the perfect 'all season solution'. It provides total coverage on rainy and cold days but can be fully retracted on warm days so that customers can enjoy the sunshine. The three units can be independently controlled to allow maximum flexibility and create stunningly different environments.
The heating and lighting systems create a cosy atmosphere and give warmth to the area. The installation of a new all weather TV & speakers has allowed customers to enjoy sport and music whatever the weather and bespoke furniture and plants makes this a really unique setting.
The Box is stunning not only in its visual appearance but because it allows customers to really take advantage of alfresco living.
